Terms of Service

Last updated: 9/18/2025

1. Accepting These Terms

By using Jab (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. What We Do

Jab helps people keep track of shared expenses and settle them with friends. Features may include: scanning receipts, splitting costs, linking to payment services, and tracking group spending. We may change or add features at any time.

3. Your Account

  • Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your password safe and notify us if you suspect misuse.
  • Be at least 13 years old to use the Service (in accordance with US law).

4. Your Data

When you use Jab, you give us permission to process information such as receipts you upload, contact details you share, and activity within the app. We handle this data as described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Payments

Jab itself does not move money. If you choose to pay through a third‑party service (for example a digital wallet or bank transfer), that service handles the transaction under its own terms. Jab is not responsible for delays, fees, or disputes related to those payments.

6. Your Responsibilities

  • Enter accurate expense information.
  • Check that splits are correct before sending them.
  • Respect other people’s privacy.
  • Use the Service lawfully and not upload harmful or illegal content.

7. Accuracy Notice

Automated tools (including AI) help extract data from receipts. They can make mistakes. Please review all information before relying on it. Jab is not liable for losses caused by inaccuracies.

8. What You Can’t Do

  • Break any laws or violate anyone’s rights.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service.
  • Reverse‑engineer or copy our software or designs without permission.
  • Upload viruses or malicious code.

9. Intellectual Property

All content and software that make up the Service belong to Jab or its licensors. Using the Service does not give you ownership of our intellectual property.

10. Liability Limits

The Service is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, Jab is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service.

11. Availability

We try to keep Jab up and running, but service interruptions may occur. We may suspend, change, or discontinue the Service at any time.

12. Ending Your Use

You may stop using Jab at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or for any other reasonable reason. Some sections (like Liability Limits) will survive termination.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Mexico. However, as we primarily serve US users, we also comply with applicable US consumer protection laws. Any disputes will be resolved according to the laws of Mexico, but US users retain rights under applicable US federal and state laws.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms periodically. If a change is significant we will give you notice. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
