4. Information Sharing

We share your information only in specific circumstances:

  • With Your Group Members: Expense details, splits, and payment status are shared with others in your expense groups.
  • Payment Processors: When you make payments, necessary information is shared with third-party payment services.
  • Service Providers: We may share data with trusted partners who help us operate our service (like cloud hosting or AI processing).
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights and users' safety.
  • We Never Sell Your Data: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Receipt Processing and AI

Our AI technology processes receipt images to extract expense information automatically. While we strive for accuracy, automated extraction may contain errors. Please review all extracted data before finalizing expense splits. Receipt images may be temporarily stored to improve our AI accuracy, but we implement security measures to protect this sensitive information.

6. Third-Party Payment Services

Jab integrates with third-party payment services (like digital wallets and bank transfers) but does not directly process payments. When you use these services, their own privacy policies and terms apply. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any payment services you choose to use through our app.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption, secure servers, and access controls. However, no internet transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we continuously work to protect your data and will notify you of any significant security incidents.

Jab is not intended for children under 13 years of age in accordance with US law (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

11. International Operations

Jab is operated by a company based in Mexico but primarily serves users in the United States. We comply with applicable US privacy laws, including COPPA for children's privacy. Your information may be transferred to and processed in Mexico for operational purposes, but we maintain compliance with US data protection standards and regulations applicable to our US user base.
